Recognizing both the universality and the personal uniqueness of life’s value and mystery, the richness and capacity of being human, is the foundation of my practice. We build patterns of self, and self-in-relationship which are useful, but sometimes become limiting, or no longer serve us well. As a psychotherapist I provide compassionate attention and awareness, supportive exploration, offering a means of making these concepts and patterns conscious. With consciousness comes expansion, greater possibility and choice. The therapeutic relationship is a relationship of self and other in evolution.
I have a life long interest in humanistic and transpersonal psychologies, the healing, transformative power of how we attend to our lives; our work, art, sport, play, environment, our sense of spirituality, and ancestrally heritage.
Some of my training and modes used, as called for, in session: Humanistic Psychology – particularly Rogerian Client Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, Family of Origin Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Behavioral Therapy - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Brief Solution Focused, Narrative, Structural Family Therapy, Object Relations Theory, Hypnotherapy, Body-Awareness -including breath work, Projective Techniques including: Dream work, Sand tray, paint & clay work, meditation and mindfulness.
